Dehradun. Drishti Eye Insititute yet again stood firm on the grounds on how it manages hygiene, Infectiond control and cleanliness in the premises, creating positive patient and attendant atmosphere with its state of art facilities. Recently, Drishti Eye Institute was the first hospital in Uttarakhand to be awarded the KAYAKALP certificate. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India launched a National Initiative (KAYAKALP) to give awards to those public and private health facilities that demonstrate high levels of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control. This initiative stems from the Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan initiated by the Prime Minister back in 2014.

The certificate is offered based on the performance of the facility adhering to the six parameters- Hospital/Facility Upkeep, Sanitation and hygiene, Waste Management, Infection control, Support Services and Hygiene Promotion. Scoring very high in infection control and sanitation and hygiene, Drishti affirmed the hygiene responsibility towards its staff and visitors. The proper waste management procedure is well communicated among staff members on each level coupled with frequent trainings focusing on emergency situations and day to day activities of the hospital. In the past, Drishti was proud to achieve the prestigious Pre-NABH and now KAYAKALP Certification. (Beauro)
